Expedia's cure for 'long-distance love syndrome'
Post holiday period (Easter) is traditionally low for travel companies. And data reflects that there is always a core audience who aren't willing to pay the full whack of ‘Easter prices’ to travel - and that they are happy to wait and book their holiday later when prices drop. The brief was to remind this audience of ‘post public holiday travellers' that great deals were now available with Expedia. Basically, we just wanted to get the message across in a really funny and engaging way, with each script describing, in considerable detail, a totally absurd and fictional invention to help those who miss their loved ones.
