I make better spaghetti than most people. But I should digress.
I untangle difficult briefs with a strategic eye and make things far less difficult than they may at first appear to be.
Hello, my name is Paul. I write stuff, travel places, surf, critique films, write films and envy people who drive classic cars. I also really like old furniture, cool lamps and podcasts that ramble on for hours deconstructing obscure scenes in films. That shit makes me purr.
I am a writer-based senior creative. I have about 10 years experience in a Creative Director role. But first and foremost, I am a writer and a strategically-motivated ideas person whose best skill is to remain deeply imbibed in the process of delivering exciting and appropriate communications solutions.
I have some really nice experience in Australia, The UK, Europe and Hong Kong over a period of 15 years in large agency environments. Amsterdam was a real favourite; I had the opportunity to oversee the Canon account for 2 years.
My work has been recognised at Spikes Asia, Cannes, New York Festivals, LIA, Webbies, ADMA Australia, ANDYS and Kam Fan Hong Kong. No big deal. It’s a team game. But what I am most proud of, is that all of my work has been effective for my clients’ brands and their beloved bottom lines.
For me, the Idea is everything.
As it should. But on a more macro level in terms of writing, I’m highly experienced in most long-form writing, including all digital copy (SEO, EDM ETC). I also have experience in some levels of technical writing, in the form of White Paper and Pharmaceutical and Healthcare literature.
I never ask anyone to write what I cannot.
In my personal time, I love to surf, visit my mother and siblings, cook, play music - I embrace the gift of life on all of its levels. Gratitude and humility everyday.
I have a daughter aged 3, Phoebe Rose. To listen to her breathe (Snore) while she sleeps, is for me, a little journey to heaven - it’s like listening to a bumble bee hover around a spring flower on a sunny day.
I never stop learning.
I have an Arts degree in English & Communications, I’ve studied acting at The Actor’s Studio in London, and Screenwriting at The New York Film Academy in Manhattan. I have since completed 2 feature-film screenplays.
Finally, I believe great ideas do come from anywhere and anyone. The skill is in identifying and clarifying those ideas when they arise - basically, I listen to what people have to say, and I value what they have to say.
I hope we get to work together soon.
Appreciate your time.
Paul Suters.
